MBA Essay

MBA essay will deal with different issues related with management. With the growing popularity of management education these categories of essays and research papers are also in demand now a day.

The basic features of management can be identified as follows-

1)      Organized activities- Management is a process of organized activities. Without organized activities, two groups of people cannot be involved in the performance of activities. Where a group of people are involved in working towards a common objective, management comes into existence. The organized activities may take a variety of forms ranging from a tightly structured organization to a very loosely knit organization. It can be a company like Microsoft or a local social club. But all organizations have one thing in common; they want to progress efficiently towards the achievement of their objectives, through the coordinated efforts of people. This is done by management process. Therefore, where a single individual pursues his personal objectives, management has no operational meaning. However, when an attempt is made to channel the individual’s quest for personal objectives along the lines that contribute to the overall objectives of the group, management becomes the means by which the random action is controlled.

2)      Existence of objectives- An objective or set of objectives should exist towards which the organized group activities are directed. Without objectives, it becomes difficult to define the direction where organized group activities would lead to. The existence of objectives is a basic criterion of every human organization because all organizations are deliberate and purposive creation and, therefore, they should have some objectives. The objectives are agreed upon by the members of the group or the organization. The organizational objectives are the desired state of affairs which an organization attempts to realize. This realization of objectives is sought through the coordinated efforts of the people constituting an organization.

3)      Relationship among resources- Organized activities meant to achieve common goals are brought about to establish certain relationships among the available resources. Resources include money, machine, materials and people. All these resources are made available to those who manage; they apply knowledge, experience, principles for getting the results. Thus, the essence of management is integration of various organizational resources. However, since people at operative level do the things by the use of various physical and other resources, it is more important for the management to take care of integration of human resources. Thus, management is concerned with the proper utilization of human resources which, in turn, utilize other resources.

4)      Working with and through people- Management involves working with people and getting organizational objectives achieved through them. The idea of working through people is interpreted in terms of assigning activities to sub ordinates. The superior sub ordinate relationships are created because of organized activities. Through the process of assignment and realization of activities, the actual work is performed by people at the operative level which is the lowest level in an organization. Thus, a sizeable proportion of management principles relates to how human beings can be put for better efforts in the organization.

Benefits Of A Full Time MBA Program

Benefits Of A Full Time Mba Program

An MBA has perhaps become one of the most sought after educational programs worldwide, especially with the ever-increasing scope of managerial work across industries. Even though the recession has clawed in on the employment opportunities a bit, a full time MBA program from a reputed university/college is almost always an assurance of a decent job, along with a high scale of pay.

These days, especially because of the advent of the Internet in such a phenomenal fashion, MBA programs have branched out into different segments. While only a decade back a full time MBA program was the conventional norm, online courses along with part-time sessions have increased in prominence. However, there are certain advantages to a full time MBA program that the new courses on the block cannot beat.

Some of the exclusive advantages of such an MBA program have been listed below:

* Intensity – The intensity of the coursework as well as the classroom instructions are better by several notches than in part time or online programs. This is more emphatic as the faculty present in most reputed institutes comprise of experienced veterans. They may also include professionals from the industry and lecture sessions with people who have had immense exposure to the specified job arenas.

* Internships and Practical Sessions – Internships, practical sessions, workshops and seminars are all part of a full time MBA program. These are almost always lacking in part time or online MBA courses, mostly because of their non-viability and communication gap present between the students and the administration in these streams.

* Networking Assistance – As students roll up their sleeves for a full time MBA program, they can look forward to practical assistance in strengthening their business and professional network in the industry. This also includes professional clubs, groups and specialized interest communities from within the alumni. In the case of online courses, this is next to impossible (apart from a few notable exceptions).

* Thorough Placement Services – Unlike in a part-time or online degree course, a full time MBA program offers a thorough and streamlined process for assisting students in their search for jobs in the industry. This includes on-campus and off-campus recruitments, industry visits and introductory sessions with prospective employers. Larger firms and corporate units also trust conventional MBA institutes rather than their online (or part-time) counterparts while running a head-hunting campaign.

* Customized Coursework – Electives can be adjusted with core subject requirements, which actually help shorten the course duration as well as improve the professional expertise of the individual student in the specialized area chosen.

All of the aforementioned benefits are only applicable when the individual student enrolled has a steady focus and an eagerness to learn and develop his/her skills through the course. Remember that an MBA is all about management, and unless you know how to manage your time, subject of choice and intellect, studying for a degree in the same is of no good!

Global Institute for Corporate Education (GICE) offers top-notch full time MBA programs, with a strong emphasis on corporate managerial training for aspiring candidates.

Global Institute For Corporate Education GICE offers comprehensive PGPM and full time MBA program.

When someone talks of the types of MBA programs, many people are left to wonder what really the true meaning of the same is.  Some people would argue that when discussing the types of MBA programs, one should focus on the different branches, other say that the length of time should be critical, and so on.

In this article, I would like to go through each of this caliber so that it should be more of the classifications of the MBA programs.

Academic vs. Executive

Academic MBAs are traditional. Normally, they are meant to take at least two years of studying. They require that someone has a university degree in the first place. Apart from that, they also handle other specialties in the second year which helps to divide into other areas of business studies. They are also good for those intending to pursue business education further.

Executive MBAs on the other hand are meant to provide a deeper understanding of business ideas to long serving executives who may not have had the chance to study business before. The Executive MBA normally does not go deep into other branches.

One Year vs. Two-Year

MBA programs can also be divided into one year and two year programs. One year programs are mainly for those students who have had a significant experience in the business world already. On the other hand, two year programs are mainly designed for those who would like to change their careers or recent college graduates who do not have a lot of experience in the business world.

Part Time vs. Full Time

One thing about many of the people who attend MBA lessons is that a good number of them are not recent college graduates. This means that they are working and that they probably just want to increase their skills in business. For this reason, they are designed to offer flexibility and convenience. Here, the students will go to school during the night and during the weekend. Full time MBA programs on the other hand are the more traditional forms of MBA programs. The learner goes to school like a full time student.

These classifications of MBA programs form the basis of most of how MBA programs one will take. For you to take one or the other, you need to consider the cost, the level of experience, the time availability among others.

Full Time vs. Part Time MBA Programs

Whenever you want to pursue an MBA program, the first thing that you will always need to ask yourself is whether you want to pursue the program full time or part time. Both programs have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Length of Time

Since part time MBA programs only consume part of the day, they usually seem to be lengthier compared to full time programs.  For example a program which might take you 2 years to compete under the full time basis, may end up taking    2½  years if done under a part time basis. Therefore, you need to know whether you are willing to spend 2½ years pursuing an MBA through a part time program or spend 2 years pursuing the same program qualifications in a full time program.

Convenience

The reason why many people pursue part time programs is because they want something that might help them juggle work and education. This enables them to be a manager during the day, and a student during the night. Part time MBA programs offer convenience and flexibility which can only be wished for in the full time program.

Depth of Cover

Despite the level of convenience offered by part time programs, it is usually very hard to juggle between being a student, a manager, and sometimes a parent. For this reason, you might end up learning very little under the part time program because of the limited time that is available to you. On the other hand, a full time program allows you to take all your time to understand, ask questions, research, and learn more about your program.

Once you have looked at the four items when comparing a part time program to a full time program, you should be able to make sound decisions. In both cases, there is neither right nor wrong. It all depends on the circumstances and the situation that you are in.
