Managing business and organizations is not all about cost minimization vs. output maximization. An MBA program should be able to develop socials skills that should help you in networking while at the same time understating the socio-political environment that you are working under.
Leadership Skills
One of the reasons why some organizations will promote you once you acquire an MBA is because it is expected that after going through the MBA program, you a far better leader than what you were before. Therefore, it is important that when you are pursuing the MBA, you take seriously the aspects of leadership that you may learn in the process.
Improved Character
Apart from leadership skills, you must also train yourself to be more focused and hardworking. Truth be said, a lot of success does not comes through higher intelligence, but mainly due to a better character and a much better ability to focus. Therefore, for the time that you will be pursuing your MBA, it is important that you also shape your character so as to become a better leader in any organization that you might be working in.
Group Skills
A good manager must be both a good team player and a good team leader. An MBA program should help you build this because it is preparing you to work through and with people. You must know how to interact with other members of a group and accommodate other people’s views while at the same time being able to make firm decisions.
